Presidential Primary and Precinct Caucus – What’s New in 2020
Are You Ready for Super Tuesday? Do you know what changes are coming to Minnesota this election cycle?
The League of Women Voters of White Bear Lake Area invites you to a Special Event on Saturday, Feb. 22, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the White Bear Lake City Hall to get ready for the Minnesota Presidential Primary and precinct caucuses.
As Minnesota switches from a caucus system to a primary system for the Presidential election, the League is working to ensure that all voters have an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the new presidential nomination primary system and precinct caucuses. Michael Wall, of the Minnesota Secretary of State’s Office, will discuss the new voting procedures and ballot for the presidential nomination primary which will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. This will be the first presidential nominating primary in Minnesota in nearly three decades. The precinct caucuses will be held on Feb. 25, 2020.
Citizens Guide to Advocacy
What must citizens know to effectively persuade state and local government officials on an issue? Last winter we invited experienced lobbyists and formerly elected officials to discuss the “how to” of effective citizen advocacy at state and local government levels, based on LWV WBLA member Lisa Larson’s A Citizen’s Guide to Advocating at the Minnesota Legislature. The LWV WBLA has made this guide available as a public service. Click here for a PDF version of the Citizen’s Guide.
